I keep forgetting to update

Nana gave me this book for my birthday. I feel like she was trying to tell me, “You need to chill.”

Cruisin’ along.

This book moves so fast, but it’s captivating and so much fun. I’ve been reading it along with listening to the audiobook, and the narrator is doing an awesome job bringing the characters to life. There’s so much empathy in her voice. 10/10, but I just know this series is going to stab me in the heart eventually.

The allegory here is pretty obvious.

My 5th period had been reading this book for DEAR time, but things changed, as we stopped. I decided to finish it up.

I don’t normally get sucked into TikTok advertisements for books, but when I saw that the author wrote this book for his young son who survived cancer, I thought to myself, “Okay, maybe just this once.”

Finally, Seungwoo expressed his feelings for Yeongju. Took long enough. And Minjun is rekindling his friendship with his long-lost college buddy. Things are looking up.

Im the little engine who could, chugging along during a reading slump. Might need to switch back to YA sci-fi after this. Not that this book isn’t good and cozy — I just need a vibe switch.

Just updating because I’ve forgotten to for a while

Reminiscent somewhat of Murakami’s writing, though no magical realism to be found here. Just the cozy vibes of drinking coffee and reading a book.

This one might be usurping Killing Commendatore as my favorite Murakami novel. Let’s see how it ends before I make up my mind.

Shout out to the Yellow Submarine Boy. You’re so real for loving The Beatles.

Stopping to say this man truly knows how to write. His prose is simple but beautiful. And that’s what I love about Murakami. I’ve had to pause several times this chapter to appreciate it.

Sudden shift still has me reeling.
