I love James McBride’s energetic writing and colorful characters.

Common sense. I need to read other books right now.

Slow reading with far too many characters each with their own stories. This is a book group pick otherwise I would have put it down many pages ago.

I decided to put this book down as it was a disappointment.. I’ve read several of Kristin Hannah’s books and really enjoyed them, but this book doesn’t grab you. Too many characters are introduced and I didn’t particularly care about any of them.
