We go from the 17-year-old main character flirting with her married boss, to her making out with a 40-year-old, to her kissing the ex-girlfriend of the 40-year-old in a car drinking whiskey, to a cat's perspective doing hexagrams, to the same cat talking to other cats before having visions touching whiskers with a massive koi fish all in the same chapter?

I hate to harp on this so much, but the change in perspective with no warning, change in timeline without a marker, and just the situations this underage female is put in and seeking out is disturbing. I know it happens (occasionally), but this whole book has made me feel so gross.

Don't - just don't start this...

I am struggling to finish. The writing is dropping every single cliche possible for a murder mystery. It went from innocent fun to a mafia boss (?) attacking normal women in a coffee shop and demanding funds from them after luring her with pity? I just feel like it's throwing a ball of extremes back and forth, no reality 😮‍💨
