Fabulous book! I was slightly misled - my mum told me it was a love story. I suppose it is a bit but it more of a deep insight into life from 1900 to about 1950. Incredible! Brush up on your Russian history because this is a brilliant insight into life during the wars and revolutions from the point of view of a torn individual, unsure where he fits in politically, socially or romantically.
