Wow.

Way better than the first book. Much faster plot lines, action is good, and I think there are some pretty good twists. I also really like how Wight is slowly introducing the larger and larger universe. Introduction of an Underlord has been masterful, even after the gold tiers, without overwhelming readers.

Story picking up. Really looking forward to what’s next

Where is the Cego/Silas chapters?

Yep. I can see why people are hooked on this. Easy prose, fascinating story so far. I can already feel the lessons to be taken away from this book

It’s pretty captivating so far. I’m feeling for characters that I’ve only seen for literally a paragraph or two. It’s probably because I’m a dog person. But pretty interesting to see Buck’s “decivilization.”

I can see the hype. Not much of a fiction person (or at least don’t have a history of the genre) but Brown is really engaging. Super interesting plot, with plenty of turns so far. Don’t know if I’m going to read the whole Robert Langdon series, but I’ll definitely tackle this and Inferno

ORV might unfortunately be taking all my reading bandwidth.

I’m not going to lie.. this pacing is kind of weird. I’m over 300 pages in, and I feel like nothing has progressed. Still going to keep reading, but damn

Interesting story so far.. cool magic system. My only real problem is why is Lila so whatever about the existence of magic. I get it, she's supposed to be strong-willed and like a bad ass.. but like ????? How are you not freaking out once you realize there's magic and other worlds. No sense of denial, or like "no way maybe I'm hallucinating.." like none of that. Just pure acceptance. Weird.

It’s better. Action is starting to pick up more. I really wish some more background to “The Change” and “The Squads” and “The Major” was present. It wouldn’t make sense that these kids would know, but I still think it’d help me as the reader. Overall, liking it more as I’m progressing 3.5-4/5

It’s pretty interesting. It felt really slow in the beginning, but it’s kind of picking up. My main critiques so far is that there’s a ton of characters that for me (other than the main character) kind of feel interchangeable. What I mean is I can’t keep up and properly learn and appreciate each character fully. Also, there’s not a lot of history behind the Long Walk or other world-building. 3.5/5 so far

Pacing is still slow.. especially around the atoll. But it’s fine, still enjoying the read. Pacing is definitely better than book two (or it may be just a coincidence that I hit my reading slump then)

Wow. Cool plot so far, I think this books pacing is definitely better than book two. I wish they spoke more about the current state of MidMerica though.. with a certain someone ruling all of it, along with the rule changes the book has briefly talked about. Like, what life is like for the average non-Scythe

Realized how much of a slump I’m in. Overall, pretty cool. Lots of twists and turns. Maybe a like slower than the first book

Pacing is definitely slower than the first book, I don’t find myself picking it up as eagerly. Still liking it though, cool concept and I think this brings out some pretty original dystopian ideas (AWFul). And, I’m enjoying the third perspective. Cool character development, and a cool line/plot point was just introduced (between Xenocrates and Rowan)

Wow. This plot just got so much crazier. Like really crazy. I’m sitting here late at night, needing to wake up early in the morning, saying “ooh” and “damn” to these crazy plot points. Well played Shusterman. Not done, but definitely not slowing down anytime soon

Really starting to like this. Citra and Rowan are really cool main characters, and I am appreciating the multiple perspectives this book is showing

Scythe Faraday is the goat

Good so far. The relationship between scythes and the general population is pretty interesting. I hope that this book dives into it more and fleshes out nuanced relationships between family members and scythes.
