i really enjoy her definitions of path and how she looks into the history of walking from all parts of the world, different beliefs and religions; and how she connects all of these different things, back to the start : walking. i really enjoy this book so far

im very intrigued so far at all of the perspectives solnit goes into on the history of walking. excited to read more

you can learn a lot from listening and being in nature. it can teach you so much through pain and love, loss and growth.

wow. its hard for me to articulate this section. hesse is an extremely detailed writer. during this section, there is death of a past self, and rebirth into something and someone new. after going through so many different ways of life and giving in to pleasures and possessions, siddhartha leaves and finds a river. and listens. and accepts his journey, but even in peace, there was deep loss and an enriching moment
