For my own record I’ve started reading this book multiple times and always lose steam when it reaches the lady in the tub. It’s like a confusing, sluggish dream. Maybe this is the year…

Jesus Chris t it’s like reading pages in a summer diary. The social dynamics of the girl group were sooooooooo interesting to me. I’m at the part where things start going shit and idk if i want to keep reading or just end it here

Also what’s with all the normal people comparison —- this one is way more grounded and vivid and the prose is gorgeous. The gays do yearning right!

ce livre c'est un grand deception parce que les autours dans le collection est ennuyeux et prétentieux. Je veux lire francaise dans un facile et simple mais a cause de cette livre que n'est pas possible. Et le tranduction anglais est un peu estrange(je parle anglais et je connaissais que c'etais ca bizarre)Je seulement lit trois ou quatre dans la livre maise j'ai fini. J'a aime 'le navet' et 'l'occupation de la sol'

this book pmo cuz it would've been so fun if the story selection wasn't so annoying and bad. object d'art might just be the final straw. the story's main character is all -beautiful but lonely middle aged lady who drinks wine and smokes cigarette in her hotel room in beautiful crazed melancholy- It is DUMB AF and a waste of a time to read. instead of learning french i feel like im killing my brain cells

All i wanted to do was learn some French but damn these stories are depressing. They fill me with innate helplessness and futility. Why is there not better balance? Maybe i haven’t read enough lol but you’d think a standard looking book like this one would have more simple stuff.

I’m about a third of the way through and this is a very difficult read that I’ve been chipping away at across months. Not just because the real story about the Osage murders were so tragic and inhuman, but the writing style is very difficult to get into. It’s very scattered, and while not completely un-empathetic, it’s like reading a very long newspaper/report— feels lacking and distant

Soooo funny how many times Brontë has used ‘ejaculated’ as a way of saying ‘said’ in the past four chapters. Got to be at least three times, which isn’t that much but still a lot more than usual.
Anyways, this is starting off to be the dark academia (cringe) fall candlelight balcony warm blanket book of my dreams. Started re-enacting scenes in the living room. Excellent play material.
