Man I haven’t been this into a book in a while. Good feeling.

Okay so Lucans still absolutely a dragon, the dragons are channeling/made of ether therefore the reason they attack the city is because of the font underneath. Not to extinguish.

Wild conspiracy though is that the font is not a natural spring of magic but in fact many decades of dragon corpses accumulated OR is the elder dragon captive.

If Lucan ain’t the copper dragon that attacked vinguard and Isola then I’ll eat my damn shoe. Mysterious amnesiac background, weird devotion for “saving him” even though everyone else seems to have been charcoal, weirdly conscious of the scar from the dragon and how it may be hurting her (cause he feels guilty).

Oh yeah and first teenager died by going ‘jfc just kill me’ n then they shanked him…

I’m feeling a distinct LACK of meaningful DRAGONS 😤

They’re just being used as world building and scary bear tactics.

Beginning is rough around the edges and some sentences or portions feel like their suffering possibly from translation issues in tone. Setting up some good elements to come though and got into the meat of what I came for right away rather than a slow start.
