Catholic emo man gains powers from vaping!?

This book really surprised me in the best ways possible. I knew I liked it early on but as good as it starts, it gets so immensely better as you read more of it. Easily the best vampire book I've read and I can't wait to finish this one. It honestly has some of the best prose and emotional impact I've read. Man vs. organized religion, man vs. his own depression.

I cannot see finishing this book and giving it less than a 4 out of 5. The narration is wonderfully executed, the environment feels real and the atmosphere is potent and vivid. Vadney has great talent in conveying a lot of information with concise and sharp writing. The characters are also very fun, they are distinct, rough but likable, and none of them are Mary/Mark Sue's though I favor Amara and Kyndel.
