ah yes, the trope that forces young girls to fight for one man’s attention, simultaneously pitting women against each other and showing that they have no distinct desires nor choice in love anyways.

bonus: if they don’t win, seeing as their only purpose ever is to please men, they will not be able to marry and therefore be rendered useless according to society. yay!
