Little White Slip was an odd story. Quite depressing really - about a woman with post-natal depression. Nothing really happens with the plot line either, even though the story is relatively long for a short story.

'The Movie People' was extremely odd. It did have a lovely elegant poetic quality to the writing, but other than that there's nothing else I liked about it. The story has the potential for something better, but what's there is just hard to follow and not very interesting.

'Outside' was not my cup of tea. I found it depressing, and also very disjointed. Meh

"The Great Philosophers" was interesting. I enjoyed it because I love hearing about philosophy and the lessons he taught and the quotes. As a story though, I didn't think it was great.

"Paleface and the Panther" wasn't one of my favourites. At first, I found the way the author kept jumping to different times extremely disorienting. The story itself was annoying too - just about an annoying spoilt kid.

The Salesman was my favourite so far. It was long enough to really draw you in, and you could really sympathise with the protagonist. It also has just enough mystery to leave you thinking about it for a while after you've read it.

"Armadillo" was an interesting story. I felt like I wasn't able to fully get my teeth into it though.

"Brisbane" wasn't even 2 pages long! I couldn't even get into the story before it was finished. Too short, even for a short story.

"One of the Girls"... I'm sorry, but I can't even pretend to like writing without any punctuation. It was awful to read, and actually gave me a headache, because the whole story is literally one whole sentence without punctuation. I understand the writer is trying to do something here with that, but I just don't get it. I feel like I may as well read 5 year old's short stories.

"Once Removed" was a bit of a bland story, and a little depressing.

Just Like Us was an odd story, but had the kind of premise that would make a good novel. Weird and different, but I liked it

Oh my God, Blood and Bone was so sad, I'm still crying! If this had been a full novel I don't think I could've made it the whole way through! It's one of those stories where I hve to keep reminding myself that it's fiction so I don't get too upset ... very powerful :'(

Pet Name was very odd, but I enjoyed the weirdly erotic nature of this story. Definitely interesting

I quite liked The Green Lamp. Nothing too amazing in the plotline, but I enjoyed reading it.

A few pages into The Panther I was convinced this story was too weird for my tastes and I wasn't going to like it. But then I kept reading, and 3/4 through I was so enthralled... odd story, but really awesome

Wow, loved Flicking The Flint. Such a sad, tragic story in so many ways, but this story really touched me. I just wish it had a better ending

I liked Sugar Bag Dreamin' Country. Didn't quite understand the ending, but the story itself seemed quite poignant to me.

The Stories I Read As My Mother Died - This story really resonated with me. I just really loved it, and the characters, and the way the main character is obsessed with books like I am :)

Something Special, Something Rare - sort of liked this one. The storyline is a little bland, but still a reasonably enjoyable read.

Civility Place was quite odd, but I quite liked it, even though the whole time I felt like I must be on crack or something.

I liked reading Too Solid Flesh, but in the end nothing really happened :-/

What I Didn't Put In My Speech - didn't really like this one. Went nowhere, and wasn't very interesting

I really liked The Peacock, although I felt the ending was very anti-climatic.

The Interpreter - I sort of liked this one. Interesting viewpoint of the interpreters in the detention centres.

I liked Now I See. This is a situation I have imagined for myself msny times; enjoyed reading this one.

Didn't like Blue People. Just one of those odd stories that was ho-hum and then didn't go anywhere.

Loved Snake In The Grass - although I found the sudden switching of viewpoints confusing at times. But I did love the ending, it felt so tragic!

Undecided on Mrs Sunshine - parts were OK, but then it just didn't go anywhere.

This Is Who You Are You'll See - really liked this one, and I loved the ending (rare for me for a short story!)
