I’m enjoying this book so far, but it seems the author is trying REALLY hard to rely on people’s parents being loving and simplt misguided. She doesn’t really seem to discuss at all how abuse factors in to attachment. It just feels kind of like she’s choosing to skip over the fact abusive parents exist and instead pretend that basically everyone has a “loving” family who’s just “trying their best.”
