i love outrageous greek mythology is bc wym you mated with a sacred bull ??

“Some of those who came to slaughter us did so with the memory of those previous times, when committing such actions in wartime had won them a handsome reward. It happened in Gwangju just as it did on Jeju Island… with such a uniform brutality it's as though it is imprinted in our genetic code.”

- Chapter 5 :(

the way no one at my book club managed to finish this

it took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out what was happening in this book.

goodreads will have a whole update to change the logo but wont give us half star ratings

I got convinced to read this to prepare for R.F. Kuang’s next book, and I can’t get over the fact that Dante name dropped all his heroes (like Socrates and Homer) in Canto 4 and made them be in Limbo… like hello??!

im convinced this book is a cry for help

my average rating this year was 3.3… 😭💔

almost everyone in this book is absolutely unbearable i can’t take this anymore 😭😭
