The trials are cool. Would love to see them on screen.

*happily humming* …. So far, the trials and hauntings are really interesting. I like that this book is unpredictable. Anything can happen at anytime. And im really enjoying her friendship with blackwell.

but the plot 👍🏾 so far

6 chapters in. So far so good. Plot not slow. The setting is nice, new orleans, foggy, scary at night… we just got to the part where the protagonist accidentally steps into the devil manor property and the interaction with the “apparition” was intriguing… very mysterious, flirty vibes…

Finished 3 chapters. We’re back to spooky 1800s and im loving it!! Apparitions. Necromancers. Black magic. 🖤💀🖤💀🖤💀🖤 i especially appreciate the representation of OCD anxiety.

Part 3… she’s back… kind of… shes starting to remember… Kaine looked for her everywhere… he was even in the warehouse checking logs, not knowing she was in one of the tanks 😭

I was planning on reading part 1 again, but i cant, im too invested now.. i’ll read it once i finish part 3 maybe… we’ll see :(

Kaine and Helena’s new facebook status being “in a relationship” 😭🙃 he’s so soft im still jarred by it. I keep thinking this isnt kaine, this is someone else. Im still not used to it. I want to reread the whole chapter again slowly, to take it in… 🖤🥀

And why arent we closer to part 3 yet? 150+ pages left… That makes me nervous…

Key things that stood out to me:
* When Win got the business card from a potential investor. I thought, when ur open to the universe, the universe will open up to u. And سبحان الله i think thats where i am today.

I gave up on this book in the beginning but then I gave it another chance. And i’m so glad :’(

I have thoughtttsss!!!! Spoiler: SPOILER! why’s Ferron obviously trying to hide that he cares for her? And who’s Lancaster?! 😭 and the new years party 😭 Ferron snapping necks! all quick snaps, with no remorse! My theory: Ferron was forced. He was dying inside. Maybe its the pills that make it easier for him. Also. I think he loved Helena before she lost her memories!

Im loving the gothic vibes so far. This would make an incredible movie, the visuals of some of the scenes could be really interesting to see on the big screen… and i’m learning so much vocab i need to create my own glossary 😂

Im so annoyed… this book has a really good premise and setting and i think i would fall hard for this book if it were written by someone else i have in mind… this author is telling alot more than showing… i think shes expecting me to feel sorrow here and confused there… and i wish that was the case.. :( .. not giving up on this book tho.. ive already started a Pinterest board& have followed a few fan accounts
