I was one of Elizabeth’s beta readers as she worked on this book. Seeing the changes she’s made and reading the fleshed out pieces that were not quite ready yet has been fascinating. This book is NOT for anyone who is triggered by SA as it deals with instances of CSA. I feel the subject matter was tactfully written, giving enough detail so the reader knows what happened without getting explicit.

This book deals in some pretty dark themes (SA of a minor). It’s written in a way that I can’t tell who the bad guy is, making it more difficult to put down, and yet I have to put it down occasionally to recoup from the darkness. It doesn’t bring to light how false accusations, even when/if proven false, still permanently affect the lives of all the people involved.

This book isn’t like many other non-fiction books I’ve read. It’s not data and facts, though it does have those aspects. It’s more like listening to the story of a friend as she shares the journey of how she became the woman she is, and how we, too, can come into our own.
