Amber Barnett is on page 249 of 520 of The Fury / Dark Reunion (The Vampire Diaries, #3-4)
Just finished The Fury.
Elena actually became a likable character to me after three books. She grew a lot and learned to take care of others, and focused less on herself and the mundane things teenage girls usually obsess about.
I truly was surprised about the Other Power being Katharine. I truly hadn’t thought of her as an option because I assumed she was dead. I think this book wrapped things up pretty well.

Okay so finally in book three I am given the indecisive yearning between brothers trope I was seeking from the beginning!!! Like Stefan is text book sweet and perfect and truly Damon’s soft side is worth exploring.

It’s hard to look past how amateur this book is at times, but it’s nice eh has finally connected the letters to Addie so we know what the hell those were.

Amber Barnett is on page 259 of 492 of The Awakening / The Struggle (The Vampire Diaries, #1-2)
Finished The Awakening:
Elena is slightly less insufferable, but boy oh boy Katherine became the insufferable one the more I found out about her. How are you going to change two people into vampires and then meet the sun in less than 48 hours like? How dramatic!
Eager to see what Damon does to mix up this storyline. He’s clearly the bad boy brother and I think Elena is absolutely going to prefer that.

This is a very light hearted read ! So far it’s been a little silly and that has been a nice contrast to what else I’ve read this year.

“The Affair Upstairs” has been my favorite story in the book so far!
Very much reminded me of Rear Window!! Which is interesting, because the film came out 11 years earlier.

This has been the perfect fall read. Very quick stories for each time you sit down with the book, and all very witty and engaging.
I’ve paired this with watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and it’s been a great combination, paired with the crisp autumn air and the intrigue for thrilling mystery stories during this time of year.

I actually really love the writing style of McBride. He’s funny, without trying to be so. His writing style is very similar to the way we speak in run on sentences, or tangents. The way the story is told, as well, is unique. I like how he brings us individual perspectives with each chapter to complete the full picture.
Just finished part one, and it definitely leaves off on a cliff hanger!

This has definitely been the most boring book of the series, in my opinion. We spent a majority of book 3 with Harper in the hospital, and now a quarter of this book has had Tolliver in the hospital.
I may be starting to understand why this is the last of the Harper Connelly Mysteries.

AHKIKIKI finally their tension has come to a head, literally. I wasn’t sure when this was gonna go down with all the bra unhooking because of her arm but it was definitely time to happen!

Suspect wise, I think we’re looking at the pastor still and possibly one, or both of the doctors. Idk how I feel about Barney Simpson yet.

This is the first book I’ve noticed multiple editing errors, like a sentence saying “truck” when it was meant to say “luck”, similar issue with words like “to” and “do” in the book have been in the incorrect order.

Anyways- the suspect is a bit harder with this one because of how many bodies we have and there not being a direct connection. The pastor is sus, and so is Mr. Almand ….

Okay, so we are leaning into the Harper and Tolliver love trope with them sharing one room… and tbh I’m excited to see WTF will happen.

8 boys is incredibly tragic, but a good grab because I am heavily invested in them solving a serial killer case.

I can’t tell if Harper and Koenig are gonna end up romancing each other or if he’s actually up to shady business. I hope it’s the latter.

I know Felicia had something to do with Tabitha’s disappearance, she’s felt the most suspicious to me.

How could it possibly be Tolliver and Harper who placed the girls body there to discover it?
For one, that would the stupidest plan ever. Two, they didn’t know the family moved to Memphis. And I get Harris is going through all this slowly but surely, it just seems fairly obvious.

The professor who invited her to do this investigation for his class needs to have some questions asked to him ASAP.

I really like Harper and her take on life. She enjoys the mundane as much as possible because she is finally at peace after years of suffering.
But you can tell she doesn’t believe she can have peace forever, or a normal life due to her fear of chaos coming back.

I still think the killer is Paul Edwards.

Harper is like the goth, less friendly version of Sookie. Which, I love. And surely Sookie’s telepathy vs Harper’s grave sight is different, but they definitely remind me of the same vibe. Especially in the way the other characters treat them because of their power.

This book sucked me in! I spent all day yesterday reading it!

“Had she really thought I would not know him? I could recognize him by touch alone, by smell; I would know him blind, by the way his breaths came and his feet struck the earth. I would know him in death, at the end of the world.”

Wow. Incredibly well-said, Miller. To love someone as such; we are the lucky ones.
