This book is making me really uncomfortable somehow.

There is an awful lot of describing how people blink at each other. „He blinked.“ „I blinked, too.“ „He blinked so steadily, it was kind of scary from how psychotic the movement was“.
Is it artistic freedom?
Is it lack of creativity?
Is blinking just a metaphor for ordering sth online and the author is criticising our fast-lived over-consumption-driven society? That has to be it.

Yeah.
So I‘m predicting that he has fallen in love with her during the interview („why is he always looking at me like that?“ - I hate when women write stupid women) and her stalker is going to come back in like 12 chapters.

Born to watch Heated Rivalry, forced to read this already falling flat novel.

If I have to hear about how hot they find each other and how they want to fuck each other but then DO NOT ACT ON IT one more time, I WILL break something!!!!!!


I‘m too close to the end (which is the difference between Alex and me badum tsss) so there will not be a steamy scene (which is exactly like my life *sad* badum tssss)

Catherine is so wholesomely naïve🥹🥹 Feels so relatable.
Still, Pride and Prejudice is OG enemies to lovers and I will always simp for Darcy.

Still perfectly entertained, however given the number of attractive men around, I am missing some good ol‘ fornicating. So much potential for WHAT Miss Bardugo?? At least a hot makeout sesh. Please.

This book is even wilder than part one but it‘s fucking DELICIOUS ayeeeeee

I love her. Reading the future out of a person‘s intestines? Miss Bardugo‘s ideas always excite me so much.
And haven‘t read anything this dark and eerie in a long time.
However, I struggle with the sentence structure and vocab sometimes. (This REALLY hurts my ego to admit)

Es gibt einen Gott denn auf Seite 250 in etwa wurde es plötzlich spannend. Mutig, die Spannung erst ab da einzubauen. Interesting artistic choice.

Why is this all so depressing? I feel like reading these toxically masculine/ archaic POVs is poisoning my eyeballs.

Okay Fazit: einige echt gute Gedanken, sowas wie Platz machen für Gedanken, die nicht in eigene Glaubenssätze passen. E.g. I might not think highly of my looks, but some of my friends do, so in the end, neither of us are wrong or right. Which is better than feeling the pressure of having to think I‘m a hot-ass bitch, when that‘s just lying to my brain.

I‘ve read the first chapters before. I forgot how much I liked this

Okay, I just witnessed the probably most tragic moment in this book, and it‘s not even someone dying in vain or something, but a very important, VERY special character just became… redundant. They are not needed anymore.

Better than part two so far. I‘m still bad with the whole politics and strategic battle stuff, but I‘ll blame it on the language barrier.

After dragging the whole fucking way through, FINALLY shit is going down. However, I‘m bad with battle sequences because they stress me out so much and I have to actively force myself to not skim over the pages because I can‘t take the suspense.

Fucking finally! Literally. I don‘t read this for the smut, but I don‘t not read this for the (mildly cringe) smut, you know?
They need to have some conversations, but I have always been a fan of characters wildly arguing leading to them heavily making out, so this works for me. For now.
