Such a great story. So many of these people have to be super traumatized tho.

This book has so many asshole characters in it. It’s excellent but ugh some of these characters are serious jerks.

76 pages in I’ve surmised the following: the main character possesses a beautiful knowledge of various fatal botanicals and of American Oak trees; she has an obsession with her former advisor that could easily turn into stalking; and she is definitely suffering from suicidal ideation and depression and would benefit greatly from psychiatric treatment.

Literally just realized this is a true crime novel. Absolutely captivating so far.

This is my main GoodReads profile. The other one was opened because I could not remember my login. As soon as I’m positive everything has merged over I will be deleting it. 😊

I don’t know how this is the 2nd book in the series. The author missed some major opportunities to develop story lines for the main character, a secondary character in the first book and to just round out character development overall. The opening of this left me feeling like I’d been dropped at the beginning of the 4th or 5th book not the 2nd.
