horrible writing.

i couldn’t resist.

“And if you’ve got to worship something, why not the snake, which sloughs off its skin and turns up all fresh and ready for anything and can also form itself into a perfect circle by putting its tail in its mouth. And lives in air and soil. And carries poison in its mouth all the time ready to defend itself. I have nothing against snakes, mind.”

so kids nowadays are just sitting down with their bullies and have philosophical discussions about why they get bullied by them.. we as a society.. we finally evolved.

im trying really hard not to dnf this book because it’s actually quite interesting :( giving it another go, let’s see what happens.

“Sıklıkla duyduğum ama hiç mi hiç inanmadığım laflar bunlar. Elinden alırım derken gizlice mi yoksa zorla mı? Evimden bir şey çalabileceğini sanmıyorum, çünkü kapım sonuna kadar açık. Zorla da alamazsın çünkü bir direniş söz konusu değil.”

you can definitely relate to everything that is happening in this book if you too are unemployed.

"i learnt that it rains when clouds collide with a high building, like a steeple, or a cathedral; the impact punctures them, and everybody underneath gets wet. this is why, in the old days, when the only tall buildings were holy, people used to say cleanliness is next to godliness. the more godly your town, the more high buildings you'd have, the more rain you'd get."
