What an adventure. This is gonna be a slow-going book. There’s so much to take in and think through on each page. But I think it’s gonna be a grand adventure. Definitely the most unique book I’ve ever “read.”

This is a wonderful, easy read. It is well written. The histories in the opening chapters are concise enough to serve as a primer to those who know nothing of the subject and a review who know the subject well. Loving it so far!

Nick Wilson is on page 15 of 384 of The Christian Imagination: Theology and the Origins of Race
This is a rough read. I think, just maybe, it will be worthwhile. At least the premise he outlines is fascinating. His writing style, however, is not!

Wow! I don’t know what I was expecting, but the theology is very Catholic. I don’t guess I’ve ever read an unapologetic theology of the Mass before. It is enlightening. Slightly irritating. But enlightening.

Nick Wilson is starting Don Quixote
Starting a giant of a novel. It’s a moments like this that I wish I was reading it electronically. The iPad doesn’t yield nearly as much hand fatigue!

I’d forgotten how much “fun” it is to read these old Classics. They can craft a phrase that few modern writers can hold a candle to!

Nick Wilson is on page 19 of 112 of Contemplative Evensong: Unlocking the Spiritual Power of the Sung Office
This book has surprised me. I was expecting a rather academic discussion of the office of Evensong - which, no doubt, is on the horizon. The first part, however, is a discussion of American spirituality in general. He also contemplates the recent change in the younger generation that has re-sparked an interest in the more ancient, contemplative aspects of spirituality.
