Violet signs up and and starts walking up a tower where she makes friends named Dylan and Rhiannon. She gives the girl her left boot so she doesn’t slip. Runs into xiaden. Dylan dies and he had a girlfriend he was about to propose.

So far Violet is a cool character and Mira seems like a really good sister caring and what not. Her mom is a very strict general. Mira gives violet a lot of advice on how to survive this conscription day thing including not to sleep with older guys but violet likes this character called Dain. They r headed to the entrance to where other candidates are.
