His reason for writing this book being providing Protestants with their historical theology and roots of spiritual formation is super helpful and livens my soul. So many Protestants have no context of their history due to non denoms, and evangelicalism. Here however, Bigham urges his readers to look back and see the glories of historical Protestantism rather than flee to Rome or the east. Really helpful for our time.
