Mind blowing that this has been going on since...1960's, 1970's? Disgusting business. Greed, lust, more greed, drug addiction everywhere, death.

It's a great story! I'm trying to guess. How it will end for the estranged Tess. Will Angel come to her rescue in her time of need? Maybe she won't take him back now. What about the Alec D'Urbervilles? Is he still a scoundrel at heart or can he offer them all a home?

So far I'd like to know if family members go together for a sauna, are they actually naked? I don't think that would work. I mean, seeing Mom and Dad naked by their children or teenagers?

It's a very hard read. An ugly life for Helen.

Heartbreaking to read about this 6 year old girl, beaten and whipped almost daily and blamed for her parents' domestic fighting.

Takes place in Athens, something new for me in a novel setting. A fun and interesting read so far.

I enjoyed this book but I also felt the hardships for Bart. He seemed very hard on himself, often pursuing difficult runs even when he was injured or quite sick. I want to try some of his practice regimes and see if I can conquer some of my running goals.
