I was surprised to learn this story was written before Bram Stokers Dracula. So far, I'm enjoying this novella. Carmilla being LGBTQ also surprised me. I didn’t expect it, but I love it.

A ine that stands our to me, 'Girls are caterpillars while they live in the world, to be finally butterflies when the summer comes; but in the meantime there are grubs and larva, don't you see...'

Ok, the magic is cool. Yeah, its introduction was weak. So far I'm preferring the POV of Mina, the reveal of who her babysitter was. Well, it was surprising. Now Lynet, the other character she is alright, though she got some serious stalker vibes. Red flag! Red alert! 🚨

The introduction of magic seemed weak, but it picked up. We learn about one of the girls mentioned in the title of this book. The girl of glass. I could be wrong, but I think I've put together who the girl of snow is. It's a hunch...

So far, I'm enjoying it. I was intrigued by the opening. Though I'm having to imagine the character Lynet older. Also, the introduction of magic felt weak.
