Iris is a freaking brat. I can't stand her. She's a terrible FMC. I so wish Pike would laugh in her face, call her an idiot and leave and never look back. I wish Pike would get a girl who actually suits him and isn't an immature whiny "Everything is about me" girl.
I wish this was in third-person or at least not in the POV of Iris. I don't care for first-person, especially when it's in an unlikeable character's head.

Ugh... I was really liking this at first, but the crushing is happening WAY too soon for my liking. It feels almost insta-love, which I freakin hate. And yes, I know I'm on page 106 of 309, it's still too fast.
Now I know if I want to read more romance, that my preference is a SLOW-burn.
Also, this is YA, there better not be any sex scenes, let alone explicit open door ones...
Let's see if this gets better or worse.

I like it SO FAR, but I'm nervous it's going to pull a 180. I dislike half the cop characters, (Hank and Scully can go screw themselves) and I do not like Mary or Laura, aka the two "Final Girls".
Tom is fine, and I kinda like Winters from the bit he's shown.
I'm interested in what the reveal is going to be.

I can't stand Akane, Tojin and Izzy... they're so annoying and whiny. Oh boo-hoo, Painter this, Painter that. Ok, we get it. He "ruined" your life. It's your fault for relying on him like that and expecting to be NEPOed into the Dreamwatch. Not exactly nepotism, they’re friends, not relatives, and it's more of a recruit/sidekick thing, but with the way they’re acting, it's close to being accurate. Lol.
So bored...

I'm kind of loving Design. With the little bit she's been in, she's been amazing. 🤣

Yumi on the other hand... has been pretty annoying, bossy and b*tchy (apologies for this mean word.) to Painter. And the book feels like it's trying to paint (hehe) Painter out as the jerk in the wrong!
My favorites are definitely Design and Painter so far. Screw everyone else lol...
Also Hoid's narration is soooo strange.

The romance is cringey, and I'm not seeing any chemistry, only the author forcing them to "like" each other because "this is supposed to be somewhat of a romance, so they HAVE to like each other romantically."... I'd rather it just be them becoming besties. Lol
I don't really like Yumi's world and find it boring and repetitive so far and Liyun is nasty. Nikaro's world is more interesting and I hope it stays that way.

I want more small-town horror books to have creepily friendly or indifferent locals instead of the constant and overused nasty hag attitudes. It's pretty tiring to be honest. We already have to deal with these bad attitudes on the internet and in real as it is. 😐 (You can still have the locals try to get the MCs to leave town but not always have them act like such miserable people.)

I don't care what Danny may have done to cause the locals to be so afraid of Paul, why do they have to act like such nasty karens?
And why does it seem like no one in this book knows about twins?

Eh... this is a little boring. Also I don't like the supernatural twin thing going on. I call it supernatural because twins do not have bonded superpowers with each other. 🙄
It better be a supernatural thing and not Ronald Malfi thinking that's actually a thing.
The writing style is also not really pulling me in unfortunately. It feels a little too purple-y/flowery at times.

Reading(listening to) this in audiobook form. I don't know if I'm digging it. This is my first full-length audiobook, and it's definitely hard to pay attention to, despite all I'm doing is coloring lol.
These characters are so annoying, and I don't know if I would've continued reading this if I had it physically or digitally. Only sticking with it because I can do other stuff while listening.

A little boring right now. Not expecting it to get any better to be honest, especially with the extremely limited setting. The characters are so bad lol I DO NOT like Anna or Dante. They're just cringe.

Sure, some people that high up in the job industry do get defensive & aggressive when it comes to potentially losing their job, but Kate & Bea have done nothing to instigate this.. all because Kate mentioned Meredith as a doula after she went missing?

This writing style is really throwing me off. It's just not good.

I hate Leo's POV. It's first person, but he talks like the reader is Delilah. Like he's writing in his diary and it's only meant for her to read.
Instead of "I found Delilah asleep on the floor of the basement." It's "I found you asleep on the floor."
"You"
But I also don't really like Meredith or Kate either. They're giving me iffy & icky vibes.

The most unrealistic one so far. How is this guy famous? He's literally either almost a poacher, or IS a poacher. And what is up with that dumb party?

Ugh. This was NOT at all what I was expecting for "Presto". It dragged, (Just like the other stories did.) and the constant moaning Maggie was doing? Ew.

They're just getting worse. >.<

I need more of this short story to properly judge it. I think the epilogue finishes it off.

A Man In Slices — 2.5 ⭐️
This one was so weird, and might end up being the creepiest one out of all the stories. It was okay, but it did drag on. At least it did have some depth, but Richard was an idiot.

Kamp — 2 ⭐️
Boring. Dragged on for no reason. Wth was that ending? Disappointing! Lol.

This is fast paced and a bit addicting at times, but there are a few flaws.

Stop. ✋️😭 Why is the monster cackling and smirking like an evil supervillain. 🤣

I wanna read moooore! But I have to go to bed because I can't stay up all night. 😭🤣

(Also, I don't think the monster is a werewolf. The stuff it's doing doesn't seem to fit. I have no guesses right now on what it could possibly be. 🤔)

I feel betrayed and cheated. My siblings told me this was an "amazing" book. And it DID sound interesting. But the constant abuse and sexism is getting on my nerves. All the Drow women are EVIL, and constantly beat the men... and the women LOVE to do it too...
Why are they constantly smiling evilly, glancing evilly, and laughing evilly, and whatnot.

I am VERY close to calling quits.

The casino scene in the movie will always be iconic, but oh geez, they changed it ALOT from the book.
