I love the wit of the narrator in this series. I feel like it would sound like Oliver Chris who narrated “My Lady Jane”.

Not quite sure how to feel, the beginning is kind of weird because I feel like I don’t know the characters being mentioned — With the exception of Ridoc who seems to be getting more attention from Yarros on his developing personality, I just hope the others get more development as well. And I’ll also be super upset if something happens to Ridoc, might be my favorite character even over Xaden.

Time is passing but it feels like nothing is happening, overall the pacing feels off on this book. Also annoyed by the start-stop romance of Xaden and Violet, wish they’d just make up their minds.

Already loving this book — reminds me of when I was hooked on the Hunger Games and the Divergent series. So excited to finally be starting this series!

Enjoying for the most part. I’m just having a hard time going back and forth from past to present in the story because I feel that the “past” sections are too slow … this may also be just because I want to know everything is going to be relatively o.k. in the end 😅

I love when a book throws me right into the action, especially when it reads so smoothly — loving this and I’m only 4 chapters in.
