I’m getting real sick of this 16 year old somehow pulling the most badarse grownarse women. Wtf kind of self fulfilment fantasy is this novel?

This entire Ferlurian bit annoyed me. It feels like author fantasy fulfilment in the most heavy handed way and I hate the way Rothfuss writes women, but this woman in particular is especially egregious.

Boy I would have punched you the fuck out of you spoke to me that way. If Dena never speaks to you again you’d fucking deserve it.

Man her ex. What a jerk. 😒 I don’t love the male hero complex thing that’s happening here with Dax but at least it was kind of subtle.

I hate how many times they’ve used the word “spurted” when it’s not even in a sexy way.

Got me teary eyed over a character we knew for two pages, damn. You can’t have the dogs waiting at his grave, that’s just mean.

Weirdly good banter so far. If I had a dollar for every time I said “ah yes I remember this from the plague years…”

Rodent grandfather was not on my list for this book.
