Book 8 already? I must like this series a lot.

This is now a hate read.

People better die. If more than 2 people walk away from this fight I will be very disappointed.

I need some characters to die. A main character and several side characters must be killed pronto. Linden won’t die because he’s the protagonist, but how about anyone else? I need some real peril. Yerin is probably my favorite character, but it might be time for her to go. The only way being on the brink of death has any weight in a book is if people are actually dying

Ok enough is enough. I have to say something. What is this bull crap system of government. An anarchist mishmash of a caste system mixed with monarchy, aristocracy, and juntas? Makes no sense. And now there is some form of loose surveillance state thrown in? And there’s no reference to taxes or spoils of war taken. It’s all for clout and status. The hierarchy is becoming clear. The system of governance is not.

Now he’s a stumpy wonder. Great.

This author loathes Trump. It gets in the way of the actual subject of the book

I would prefer a different narrator.

The most bothersome part of this book is the assumption that there are only for profit corporations and government agencies in America.

This feels like an introduction written for people who don’t really need to hear the introduction.
