Knowing more about JFK‘s personality, he seemed to be harbouring and observant boy underneath that unserious, playful image he and likewise many in his age had tried to project.

Found the citation chapter - seems most angles are from Lem Billings’ oral history and papers. Would love to see more of the JFK’s POV.
Can see their bonding started with Lem’s loyalty and unrequited love, and bloomed with JFK’s openness and trust.
If Lem’s were to live in 21st century, I could imagine him being a true gay diva lol.
