It has taken me maybe five full reads of this book to realize one thing. In Chapter 11, when the Sorting Hat does his yearly song, he shares the story of how the Hogwarts founders founded their homes and how they split.

Hufflepuff's story is the only humane one. I denounce my identification with Ravenclaw and take up Hufflepuff as my house from here on out.

grr - ron is annoying in this book. like he's a bad friend. but also, how dare they leave out the scene of hermione getting attacked when harry and malfoy had an impromptu fight in the hallway - and hermione ends up with her front buckteeth GROWING down to her COLLAR. HBO must redeem this scene for me.

also, i feel like mr. and mrs. weasley will be me and josh in about 20 years. i can just see it.

the movie completely butchered the Quidditch World Cup chapters. completely BUTCHERED. winky deserves JUSTICE for how they just left her out of the movie (although.... knowing the story of winky... maybe it's a bit iconic leaving her out...)

My hot take: the intro to the 4th movie should've been done like how the deathly hallows story was done. with an animated cartoon that talked about the Riddle family AND THEN flashed forward to the scene where Voldemort was in the home with Peter and the others.

okay i really need to see an accurate scene for how Hermione got Crookshanks. because i would’ve loved to see Crookshanks attempt to scalp Ron and I would’ve loved to see Hermione just fall in love with Crookshanks despite Ron’s protestations.

what an iconic scene that was just snipped from the film. shame.

“The Hiding Place” was a book unfit for the season i’m in. too sad. this is a different kind of sad, but a needed kind of sad.

this book is already so sad.
