After golden state, it only makes sense to dive into this. As much as this monster gave me goosebumps, I have been fascinated by this case. The way he charmed his way across the country to lure his victims. I learned, "stranger danger" that I don't need to be nice and polite to strangers, as Anne Rule says "evil sometimes come in handsome packages."

"Has he ever gone back?"

Ugh! the anguish, the frustration, the pain those detectives must have felt when a 13 years old victim asked them that. The task to console that poor soul, to give her a sense of security after all she went through... is just heartbreaking.

"Never," said the first investigator.

"Never, ever, ever," said the second.

"The safest house in the area," said the first.

"The monsters recede but never vanish."

I cannot describe the chills that went through me as I read the first two chapters. The way Michelle writes pulls you in and makes it feel as if you are standing right there in each scene and witnessing them first hand. I cannot imagine the pain and anguish that the family and friends must have felt. It scares me as well as angers me.

My goodness! I cannot imagine how her mom, who was sitting there supporting her, was feeling as Arias was telling everyone that she abused her as a kid.
Also, someone needs to throw a dictionary at this entitled girl to read what grounded actually means. She said at their place it meant no phone, no TV, no friend, sitting in your room. Yeah, that's what it means in everyone's house.

Not American, so had hard time visualizing how far apart places are in USA. I pulled up maps as Mr. Martinez did to track the path of her travels. Firstly, just main cities, which blew my mind, begging to ask why didn't she just drive across to Utah instead of driving all the way south then all the way back up north. But then again, we all know why...
Then, I added in all the stops that she took. *smh*

The difference in watching the trials vs. reading the thought processes and investigations that lead to the trials is profoundly mindblowing.

Hoot! Finally got my hands on this book. Super excited!!!! No better way to spend time during isolation. Ever since I followed the trial couple years ago, I had been wanting look at things from the prosecutor, Mr. Juan Martinez's perspective and his thoughts as he worked on the case.

Reading this after I read The Thirst. Going back to the beginning for a change. 😄

*sigh* Another series that I am going in from butt end rather than the beginning. Oh well, too impatient to wait for the first one anyway. 😄😄

Ugh why? Why?! This leech of a man! I cannot believe it. Ughhhh I am so mad I want to shove my hand inside the story and wreck his neck!

This book has such powerful and empowering messages. The concepts are similar to what I learned in my Buddhist Psychology classes.

Holysmackingmoly what a hook. Zee is such a domineering but at the same time sweet character. I am really looking forward to him.

The story is starting to sink it's teeth in. I can vividly picture myself standing on that bridge as Its being brought to life from an innovation.

That ... That's it? Just like that? I can't believe this. I am so frustrated with such low action. After all that suspense I honestly wanted a bang of action of how they would bring that psycho bastards down. Well ... They did that sort of.

Wait what?! She was the home wrecker? Ugh! Why didn't you end up with Marino like I wanted you too?

What? DNA doesn't match?! So --so the killer still out there?!?!?!?! And oh god Abby. I was actually warming up to them being housemates.

Ugh! Sucks that I misplaced the order of the series and since i cannot wait to start, i'll have to skip book #2 for now.

So I stumbled upon this when I was searching for a case study.

I pick it up and then slam it back down. The plot is captivating but darn the cruelness and emotions are so strong that sometimes I just want to not read this book, just to go back and leaf the page. *sigh* Almost done with book one. I will say so far I am under Jon Snow, Arya Stark and Tryion Lannister's banner.
