at first, i wasnt really vibing with how uneventful the story felt— i was anticipating some camus-like imprisonment. but as the story progresses through his “freedom”, it has so far begun to paint a frighteningly familiar picture of bureaucratic abuse. im surprised i havent heard this recommended to me as alike to catch-22. this isn’t satire, but even more horrifying in its brutality of corrupt bureaucracies.
