yuck. i can’t help but feel some of these comments writing by an adult author are predatory or fetishizing. they’re all 17 and she’s writing about their bodies and how sexual they are etc.

just over half way the book is losing its magic. the writing is going downhill, not as thought through or complex as the begining. characters are falling flat, plot is falling flat and it feels like things are being rushed to end the book. disappointing.

50 pages in and i’m so confused!!!! i haven’t understood one fucking thing in this book

started off really strong but now just feels really one dimensional and too focused on a relationship that doesn’t feel like it was built. it FEELS like someone’s fantasy instead of actually characters who have all these issues and hate each other.

i didn’t like this book until now the plot is finally growing some depth i realized it missed. don’t really care for the characters otherwise and don’t feel the connection between dorian and selena

sjm’s writing is very repetitive as in the character and world building. all the girls are too skinny but also secretly strong and badass with pale skin and eyes that are everyone’s colour yet no one’s. kinda over it lol.
