I usually adore her books but this one might be a 2 star for me… I feel betrayed lol.

this is torture 😭 I usually love Abby Jimenez’s story’s but this one just isn’t it. I’m really sad that I feel that way.

every time there’s a passive aggressive female in a story they always nickname her the “ice queen”

I don’t like how Kristen is constantly dragging Tyler to justify her feelings for Josh. I value loyalty and integrity, especially in a relationship, so seeing her pine after someone when she’s already in a relationship makes me uncomfortable.

heathcliff is far from redemption at this point. nothing will make me change my mind.. NOTHING!!!

Volume 2 Chapter 6 is phenomenal.

The way Catherine is dead and there’s still 200 pages left..

Catherine was buried with a locket of Edgar’s hair, which shows she chose him in life. But Heathcliff couldn’t just let that be, so he replaced it with his own. And the fact that Nelly twisted the two together almost feels right, like even in death Catherine couldn’t belong to just one of them.

this could have been avoided if heathcliff stayed just a few seconds longer, and Cathy been more clear with what she has to say. **Communication is key**

Heathcliff and Cathy share a beautiful love for each other, like it’s bigger than comprehension. They recognize each other at a soul level. If only they sat down and talked it out.

but… I genuinely do not see good qualities in heathcliff. marrying isabella just to hurt edgar is absolutely insane and cruel. isabella deserves better. she’s stuck at wuthering heights where everyone treats her horribly, and since edgar won’t let heathcliff see catherine, he takes his anger out on her.

and threatening to hold nelly hostage just to see catherine?? hello?? sir???

although nelly gives us the backstory, her perspective is very biased. the way she interprets things feels different from how we as readers see them. like catherine’s rage moments don’t read as just “bad temper” to me. it feels more like she’s desperate to be understood and believes heathcliff is the only one who truly gets her.

after spending hours reading and deciphering, I finally finished volume 1. it took me a while because I had to google so many words just to fully understand what was going on.

Nelly is such a well-spoken speaker compared to the other characters (Heathcliff, Mr Lockwood). I can understand her to the point where I don’t have to google the meaning of words.

so, this is my first time reading a book that’s, well, written long ago. I’m not understanding all of it, but I am understand the just of it. A part of me wants to give up but an even bigger part of me what’s to move forward as this is going to be challenging but also a chance to learn more about the writing.
