This plot seems to be going SO FAST for it just being on Chapter 2! I don't know what the author has in store cause there is HUNDREDS of pages left for me to read 😅

Tragedy after tragedy.

Absolutely infuriating. This is not the life Francisco should be living. He does not have any sort of stability in his life because they’re constantly moving every few weeks, working so hard, so much, for SO LITTLE MONEY. I understand that in making this choice his parents knew there would be many sacrifices- but this is not okay. Francisco and his siblings deserve better than this life and it’s so sad.

The book is actually very intriguing. I have not been able to put the book down! There were a few pages talking about Francisco’s experience in school and it angered me so much how neglectful his teacher was. As a future teacher, it makes me wonder how teachers can look at a child who is in Fransisco’s shoes and restrict them so much, not make any effort to teach them, help them, or make them feel welcomed.

I have a feeling history is repeating itself...

I like it so far! I might finish it in 2 to 3 days if time allows... very excited to find out where Darcie's father is and why her Uncle George hates him >_<
