Don't judge me, if I knew these are the real dark romances, I would read much more of them
Dark romances have something normal romances don't, the high stakes (unless the story is like, really original in it's setting)

I had a choice between this or a book where stepsiblings fall in love (I can't take that, especially since they grew up together as kids)

Well, I found one logical hole in the second chapter (unless it gets explained later) BUT the rest of the 10% I read is really gripping and interesting

The author explains the magic system in a very "a guide for dummies" sort of way and it's so funny
