I'm getting a little bored. This has WAY less dragon time than I originally anticipated.

This is the first book that has actually given me the full body ICK shivers with a side of nausea, lol. It's not even the most f**ked up I've read, but I've never been great with self-inflicted body horror moments, and a few scenes had me squirming. 🤢😨🪱

Her entire family is a bag of dicks (minus her two Aunties and one Uncle in Nigeria) and it's been hard to enjoy the book whenever anyone from her family exists on the page. The most recent stretch was good, mainly because she was away from her family.

It's amazing how 99% of her family are constantly assholes to Zelu, dear lord I hate them lol

It's not bad, but the characters are kinda blah, and their focus on making certain things dramatically serious...just kinda makes it silly? It's trying to do adult novel darkness, but it's screaming YA.

I don't mind it, but it's the book that never ends. What state are they even in, how long till Montana 🙃
