The Plagiarist: Simulated worlds are used for scientific and artistic development. Adam has relationships that makes him feel ashamed. He express himself with powerful haikus. The simulations are shut down and that makes him question what is real. One of my favourites paradox *****

Select Character: A woman plays with her husband’s video game. I totally loved the simplicity and originality *****

Algorithms of Love and Hate
The automated ones: A socially disapproved love questioning our control over our emotions. ***

Mouth breathers: A child’s first day at an alien school and his struggles to fit in. ***

While (u>i) i—; : How Daniel and Melanie’s relationship have evolved to their old age. This one is my favourite of the trio because of its complexity that reflects the humans contradictions ****

Fantasy
12.Hell from the East: I like how this story combines different genres, Cowboy western, spiritual first nation and futuristic fantasy all together, it works! *****

13.The black beast: I think this one might be an allegory of death, maybe not. Anyway it’s a great story. *****

14.The Good God: Howey definitely surprised me with a spam in a mythology tale. I love the philosophical aspect about our era.

Silo stories

9.In the Air: the end of the world through the eyes of one of the privileged government agent that knows what’s happening. Really thrilling *****

10.In the Mountain:Ethics and survival are at stake. ****

11.In the woods: closure of the Silo story. We are dragged in this post apocalyptic universe. Yet there are lots of openings to fill by ourselves. I am totally absorbed *****

AI
Executable: A future dystopia which was a little humorous to me because of the so simple angle the author chose to use to make the world fall apart. *****

The Box: felt like an episode of black mirror in which a consciousness was trapped inside a box. Really weird but nice at the same time. *****

Glitch: the beginning of the technology revolution and the human ignorance of it. Scary. ****

👽4.Deep blood kettle: the author connects the aboriginal past with end of the world cataclysmic future. Brilliant *****

I’m impressed since these are already 7 years old stories and I remember back then AI was still an abstract fantasy, but the author captured a well glimpse of the future.

5. Machines Learning: I tought it was exciting to progress in the universe of a machine. Really well written.

1.The walk up Nameless Ridge: The crescendo of the story is incredible. I really enjoyed the ascension of this future big mountain and its psychological dimension. *****

2.Second suicide: This is a much “classical” Alien scenario, which involves Invasion. But the point of view from alien perspective makes it interesting. ****

3.Nothing goes to waste: disgusting story but interesting moral makes it ok ***
