Steph this book has me shook AF

Re-listening to this book again and it makes me sad how women were degraded so much during the Vietnam war and technically any war. I hope Frankie gets real professional help for her mental health because she’s dealing with the aftermath of having an undiagnosed condition.

Really interesting to learn about how different indigenous cultures honored the four-seven elements that we are surrounded by each day. I also think that if everything is made up of feminine and masculine energy, then *THE DIVINE* like the ultimate power… could be both “man” and “woman”. Maybe God is a woman after all 😏

Omg. Just a couple pages left from the introduction, and that alone is already eye opening for me. I unknowingly did not know brutal and disgusting history behind Christianity. It never occurred to me to look more into it and I am shocked. The fact that our indigenous ancestors were treated with such horrific cruelty breaks my heart and throughout the intro, you start to see how this all goes into play right now..

Forgot to update but MY HEARTTTTTT 😭 my girl Frankie is just trying to make it by in a world filled with sexism and classism. It’s crazy that this wasn’t even that long ago and yet we still haven’t come that far. Not to mention our society built by men today still downplays the voices and opinions of women.

It’s definitely incredible to know that somehow and someway, different religions come down to having similarities with one another. I like how in the beginning the author makes its comparisons between the Christian/Catholic realm and Paganism. Jesus was a magician and I firmly stand by that. Especially growing up Catholic, I mean everything screams witchcraft 😂. P.S thank you Steph for this book! <3
