Oh I get it, LaVache's weird thing about "I call my phone a lymph node" is sort of like how the whole city is shaped like a girl, and the phone lines are big nerve tunnel networks that are clogged. Cute.

Ha ha, I get it. You submitted this book as your collegiate undergraduate thesis, and there's an entire running bit about how all the stories college kids write are long and winding and self-conscious and sad and atrociously typed.

I think this might be slop that's pretending to be not-slop. Or maybe it's trying to be not-slop and failing. It is funny and entertaining though, and it plays strangely on my mind.

Like, this Other vs. Self thing that keeps getting repeated is basically nothing. I read Infinite Jest so all I know all this peripheral sci-fi shit haunting the narrative is going to be nothing. The metafiction shit is maybe something?
