This book is horrifying in how it portrays women. They're either emotional wrecks who can't think for themselves unless a man does for them. If not that, then they're obsessed with vanity and pretty things. They're basically rendered incompetent in every way. Oh, except for Bryn, of course, because she's not like other girls
