everyone needs a hug

guys this is my personal world war book….. i cannot read this any faster but it’s so brutal

love the premise but feels very biographical rather than a social history.

I’m not sure if I’d use the adjective unflinching or vulgar to describe this book. There’s truly nothing like an older loser to knock a young woman down even further 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

as someone who’s always suffered intense jealousy for not being in my early 20s during the early aughts or living a nick & norah style sonically based romance this book is for me

interesting but he writes the way he talks in videos and spends a lot of time reflecting on the mechanics of his viral videos/his flops?

harrowing thus far but worthwhile

superbly researched but he goes soooo much into how quaint and eccentric ‘our lovely little island of britain’ is and how tradition is eroding but like in suuuuch romantic prose ++ his arguably not real hillwalking and covid diaries which are definitely heavily edited or written with an external audience

time to read the other book i got for christmas. high hopes!

eating houmous and rolls on the train post-chapter “bitches be crazy”

really enjoy the glimpses into global gender nonconformity. really dense but still an accessible read for anyone (like me ☹️) who isn’t super familiar with trans history

finalllly getting around to this!!

clear and well written, there is a lot of pain on these pages

i’ve had to do the really cheeky thing of returning but when the wifi is off because i can’t finish this damn book!!! but now i cant ready anything else!!

somehow makes cruising sound like the most poetic yet nastiest act in the world. it takes a really talented writer to make the smell of ass beautiful
