goodreads 2024 choice awards doesn’t have a middle grade section which is CRIMINAL btw.

i ache! lord, i ache! beautifully and tragically written. i will never look at pictures of my grandmother, mixed race, undoubted without the consent of her own grandmother, the same way.

i keep anticipating plot twists and getting them wrong. okaaay middle grade! surprise me, then!
