Really gets into the weeds of folk movement. Skimmable. Tried to catch most interesting parts coinciding with the movie.

Particularly if you are Scandinavian you will love this book. I am laughing out loud reading the chapter about Michael Booth's experience in a Finnish sauna!

What an amazing writer! Such substance to chew on, to re-read, to try and commit to memory, to poke at one's conscience, to re-remember past studies in history. to grasp the inter-connectedness of all things as living. sentient beings.

80% read. So interesting. Hard to put down.

Fascinating. I will be reading this off and on. Long book.
