I’m only 14 pages into the book and the p*ss kink is so apparent whatthefreak 😭😭😭 can I stop

I wanna start reading Paradise Rot… but the amount of PISS it apparently has is scaring me. However I’ve seen allot of good reviews with its interesting symbolism so I think I can hold my nose through some piss for a bit.

I’m sorry… right off the bat I don’t like the writing style 😭😭 idk maybe I’m used to more artsy and like more intricate writing but this is just… idk how to say. It really just says what’s going on huh

Okay looks like the dark romance train is still going. The warnings for this book scared me but I don’t think it’ll be that bad. AND THIS BOOK IS LONGGG like damn okay I’ll be entertained for a while.

Abattoir. That’s a new word I learned from this and god I’m scared to go further. The tension build up is amazing, I loved how the last chapter just ended with “Ah- fuck” it really shows how despite Ro’s romanticisation of this whole love story there’s still a sense of logic within her (thank god). Man imagine finding out your lover has a secret slaughter house in her basement. That’s crazy

ONLY NOW????? See this is the problem with people who read too much or are too romantic; they’re utterly too oblivious to the world around them to realise their situation until it’s too late because they’re so blinded by the fairies and magic all around them (I’m one of those ppl sometimes)

I weirdly have an obsession with romance books that mixes horror and cannibalism (+1 if it’s vampires)

Also the teeth being used as a metaphor for their hungry and primal nature… Ash is almost like a wolf in sheep’s clothing with how the atmosphere of her stall is all sweet and sunny with its flowers and soaps yet she still bears her fangs which is very prominently being described as sharp like a cats.

I’ve noticed the irony that the cupcakes often have a meat source to them. This kinda symbolises their raw hunger like a wolf hunting for meat the two of them have. From the lard to this.. Ash is almost presenting herself as a wolf waiting to hunt her sheep down. How romantic

Gosh i love the writing style of this book, Dunn perfectly captures that gothic style of writing similar to the original Carmilla. Except I may even prefer this rendition much more, with how more in depth Lenore’s characterization is with her surroundings. Also I LOVE this creeping horror mystery going around town, the girls slowly facing a hunger they cannot deny .. I LOVE IT.. “I was so terribly hungry”

Im so glad Joey’s back, and her reveal was absolutely a jaw opener. I realize this sequel was like an emotional rollercoaster, with tons of hits left and right. Like Abby cant get A BREAK. But i seriously loved the characterization of this book, might even top the first one (which is close to perfect???). Not just about Abby, about the children too. Its just amazing gosh

This book is so depressing compared to the first one 😭😭😭 like i cant handle Joey being gone for SUCH A BIG PORTION OF THE BOOK (she’s still gone from where i’m at). I genuinely cant handle it the family’s falling apart 😭😭 Gosh im just waiting for things to get better but im sure its gonna get way worst before that happens

Woah, allot happened. I loved his anger being symbolised as a rattle snake; which is ironic given the fact that he’s defending Muslims as a whole and his rage is being represented by something considered so evil in Islam. Loved that juxtaposition!

Criticism towards rehab programs in general, addiction can be very closely related to race and religious background. Not touching on these matters for the sake of censorship is dangerous and inconsiderate. Cyrus is right for speaking up on this 👆👆

Cyrus is a very interesting character so far, I think most people (myself included) forget how painfully self aware addicts are to their condition and Cyrus shows that self awareness. Good so far!
