Terrific prose.
I can no longer even wonder about the ruminations of my local grocery clerk, who is now a robot. Steinbeck writes more beautifully and insightfully about the class struggle at play in that contemporary dynamic than just about anyone writing today. A very satisfying “be careful what you wish for” novel.

Thankfully the series continues to lean further into its best component, the rejection of the crawl
