The longer the book goes on the more I wish we got rotating perspectives from all 4 of the main students. Each interlude and glimpse into the others minds are just so much more interesting than the actual MC. And I’m so aware that MC’s shouldn’t be perfect thats not interesting either, but he’s just so naive that it’s annoying. Bc why aren’t you telling your friends that you love so much about the dangers

I did not read the blurb on the back and was shocked to find out that this is actually less biography and more self-help/inspiration based? I’m going to keep listening bc I love my girl, but I’m confused

The very quick realization that this book was written pre-2008 was jarring. There is a sense of underlying hope in the outset that simply doesn’t exist in the culture after.

So far it’s weird…..I don’t want to say it’s problematic, but if we’re doing a fictionalization of historical events I think some more creative liberties could’ve been taken.
