This is great. I'm writing a paper about quantifying teaching loads for my Master's program. There was an example of a measurement equivalent to the size of a plot of land that a person could reap an amount of wheat in, in a given amount of time. But for grapes, it was a different measurement of time used to reflect that the labour was more time-consuming than wheat. I can use that to introduce my problem statement.

I started this book hoping to find something that would help me understand why US citizens elected a Trump/Vance ticket. I'm a third of the way through and I don't feel like it's providing any deep or even interesting insight. DNF.

Omg. These descriptions have my gag reflex up and I'm just not going to make it. I think I would enjoy the book, I appreciate the narrator's voice, but holy hell. I am gagging at every 2nd sentence. DNF.

One quarter of the way in, and I'm pretty disappointed. Was jazzed when at the beginning they mentioned that the only real barrier to 100% global wind/water/sun energy is political. But then they go on to address all the (I assume not-real) barriers and haven't talked politics and ethics at all. I want to hear about actions that will push that political needle. What needs to happen?
