Getting through this book is kinda like… trudging through mud almost. I get into it when I read it, but after putting it down, it’s hard to pick back up. Idk it’s lowkey still so boring. I kinda want it from a switch pov between Damien and the Dauphin.

Lowkey, the only thing keeping me reading is Damien and the Dauphin. I immediately knew, when Damien was first introduced keeping his eyes locked on him, that there was something going on bro.

But this also applies, when reworded by Lin Zuo, to anything. This loosely ties to the discussion earlier about survival instinct versus human will. When it comes down to it, they are the same thing. Sort of.

This lowkey reminds me of a modified version of the fate versus free will argument a little bit — this whole ‘human will versus survival instinct’ is so interesting.

This book is GOOD with suspense and darker atmospheres omg this is absolutely amazing
