My plan was to get a beach read for a low-effort reading experience, and this book seemed to fit the bill. But it's been a great and substantive read so far. Uncomfortable subject matter, but done artistically. In some ways, it reminds me of Andrea Arnold films.

Don't get the audiobook. The narrator is not great. It sounds like he's an anchorman reading a teleprompter.

Story is fun so far. Definitely a "beach read."
